Poland to play Euro Championship Qualifying Game

The Poland national football team will play a Euro Championships qualifying game against Georgia tomorrow. That game will take place at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.

Poland is at the top of the table in Group D having secured 7 points in 3 games. They had won their first 2 games in a row before being stopped on draw by Scotland the other day at Stadion Narodowy.

If Poland has to retain the top position, they will have to win against Georgia. A defeat or even a draw might make them slip down because the no. 2 side i.e. the Republic of Ireland also has as many points as them.

It’s only the goal differential that has kept Poland ahead. The White Eagles have scored 13 more goals than what they have conceded.

They started by thrashing Gibraltar by 7-0 and then, shocking everybody, they got better of the World Champions Germany. They did have to lose a bit of sweat against Scotland, but, they got one point there too.

Despite being in a good position, Poland would not want to take anything for granted against Georgia.

The difference between the teams is not that big in terms of points in Group D at the moment. Any team can finish anywhere.

Talking to the press yesterday, the Poland boss Adam Nawalka said, “We are optimistic, but, at the same time, we are aware that they’re not a bad unit especially in their home conditions. Against Ireland and also, against Scotland, they played well and had they been lucky, they could have got a couple of points.”

“As far as we are concerned, our job is only half done. If we relax, all the hard work that has been done so far would go in vain.”
