Poland boss gets new deal

Poland coach Adam Nawalka has been rewarded with a new contract after having guided the national team to the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.

They were beaten by Portugal only on penalties after having ended the tournament undefeated.

This was one of the best performances by Poland on the international scene since a very long time, and the Poland Football Association does not want to disrupt the team preparation.

It is believed that the new deal will see Adam Nawalka remains as the Poland coach until the end of the next World Cup in Russia.

Adam Nawalka took charge of Poland in 2013 and had successfully guided the Poland team through the Euros 2016 qualifiers and brought them all the way to the quarter-finals. The Poland Football Federation will be hoping that he can achieve the same thing with the World Cup qualifiers who are due to start in September this year.

There were fears that Adam Nawalka may submit his resignation following the team elimination at the Euros but instead he has been rewarded with a new contract. Indeed, the majority of Polish fans believe that he is the man to take the team forward and that he must remain at the head of the team.

Poland found themselves in Group E for the World Cup qualifiers in the company of Kazakhstan, Denmark, Armenia, Montenegro, and Romania. They will start their qualifiers with the match against Kazakhstan on the 4th of September.

Adam Nawalka has stated that the group E is a tough one and that Poland will have to be ready to put on a fight if they want to make it to the World Cup. They will need to show the same determination and team spirit that they displayed at the Euros if they want to be in Russia for the World Cup.
