Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski continued his sensational scoring form in the league this season after his treble in the comeback win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in what was the standout game of week 24 in the German Bundesliga. Poland national team player Robert Lewandowski scored a hattrick to help Bayern Munich to a 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich are the German champions and they had to do it the hard way to secure the three points at stake and move back to the German Bundesliga summit. Bayern Munich started the home game with Borussia Dortmund in second place as their spot at the summit was taken by RB Leipzig. RB Leipzig had moved one point clear of Bayern Munich before the Borussia Dortmund game following their 3-0 away win over Freiburg. Ex-Paris Saint Germain (PSG) player Christopher Nkunku gave the Bavarian giants a first half lead before second half goals from Alexander Sorloth and Emil Forsberg wrapped up the big victory for the Champions League campaigners. Bayern Munich were a long way from reclaiming their place at the top of the Bundesliga standings when they trailed 2-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund but they were able to bounce back with four goals, two apiece either side of the half-time break. Borussia Dortmund hitman ErlingHaaland scored the opening goal of the game as early as the second minute to give his team the lead before he added his brace seven minutes later. Poland striker Robert Lewandowski started the fightback by pulling one back for the Bavarian giants on 26 minutes before he levelled proceedings for the hosts just before the interval after he was successful from the spot. Leon Goretzka then scored a third Bayern Munich goal two minutes from time before Poland national team skipper Robert Lewandowski wrapped up the 4-2 win with his treble on the stroke of full-time. Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has now scored 31 goals in 23 league games and he needs 10 more goals from the remaining 10 league games to break the record of Gerd Muller. Muller scored 40 league goals almost five decades ago.

Italy Beat Poland to Strengthen Their Claim

Friday, November 27th, 2020

The UEFA Nations League Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments of European football and Poland has lost all their hopes to reach the finals to Portugal. The Italians have secured their spot at the top of Group A1 by their 2-0 victory. It came very easily as Poland played like a toothless team. Now the story has become that if the Azzurris can beat Bosnia and Herzegovina then their place will be confirmed in the final round of the UEFA Nations League.

Italy had to go through various tough calls as they didn’t get their head coach Roberto Mancini with them during the match. Mancini was detected with COVID-19 infection. They had to play without some other key players on their team. But the major reason for the loss of Poland is that most of their players don’t play in their country and thus they don’t have that much understanding among them. On the other hand, there were more problems with the Italian team but they won because they show more coordination among them.

Poland Go Down Fighting to Holland

Saturday, September 26th, 2020

Poland lost their opening Nations League match to the Dutch by a solitary goal. Playing in front of an empty stadium due to COVID-19 related restrictions, the Poles showed grit before losing to their more fancied opponents. This was an away match for them. It was the first time the national team of Poland took to the turf following the Coronavirus outbreak.

Played in a biosecure bubble in front of empty stands, the only goal of the match came from the boot of Steven Bergwijn. Poland’s best opportunity to hit the back of the net came in the first half of the game when a low cross from Kedziora saw Piatek connect it straight to the Dutch goalkeeper. In the last edition of the Nations League, they had finished at the bottom of their group which comprised Italy and Portugal. Their performance in the Euro qualifiers this year was good as they finished on top of the pool. Poland is currently 19th in the FIFA rankings.
